Rules, controls and help for Scorpion Solitaire

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Scorpion Solitaire. Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Seven columns; three stock cards dealt once to the first three columns. Free solo play, no wagering.

Bring this focus to a round

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Use the example to check your reasoning.

The challenge in front of you

Complete four same-suit king-to-ace runs. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.

From the start of a round

  1. Move a face-up card with its tail onto the next higher same-suit rank. Kings fill empty columns.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Your inputs

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use one clear input at a time.

A closer look at one example

The trailing cards may be unordered, but the destination suit and rank must match. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Keep the controls nearby.

Keep this in mind

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
