Understand the basics of Ludo

Read the aim of Ludo, then make your first move. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Look at what changes after your first action.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

A small practice goal

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Make the next step deliberately.

The objective of a round

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Start with a deliberate move.

Work through the instructions

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

How to use the controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A closer look at one example

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Read the matching step again.

Check this before moving on

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Check the rule before repeating the action. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
