Your guide to Word Recall

Open Word Recall, check the instructions and begin a round. Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Included vocabulary and random repeats; a game, not a medical memory assessment.

Try a more deliberate round

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Notice the feedback after each input.

What counts as success

Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Work through the instructions

  1. Read each displayed word.
  2. Choose New word or Seen before.
  3. Remember words from this round only.
  4. Three mistakes end the round.

Keyboard and screen controls

Click or tap one of the two answer buttons. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Check any mode label before starting.

Put the rules into context

PLANT seen earlier in the same round requires Seen before. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Keep the controls nearby.

Watch out for this

A word from an earlier round does not count as seen now. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
